Wednesday 21st October wasn't just 'Back to the Future day', It was also explore 20th century music styles day for 78 Year 5 pupils. They enjoyed a mix of performance styles in the hit show 'Stomp' at the Mayflower Theatre in Southampton. The children were excited and surprised at the different ways to make music; from using a broom to playing a whole junk yard. The show gave the children an insight into the rhythmic world combining body percussion with everyday objects, something the children have been exploring in their music lessons. It was a fantastic show and opportunity for the children to take their learning beyond the classroom walls!
